Animazing Experience at Edgeborough School - May 2006

Dangerous creatures from exotic parts of the world are always a source of endless fascination for children and this proved to be just the case at Edgeborough School on Thursday evening when the Lower and Upper Prep boys and girls were treated to a fascinating lecture from ‘Animazing’.

It was the stuff of nightmares! A variety of insects, reptiles and amphibians were brought into school for the children to observe, and, on occasions, handle. Among them were the ‘giant hissing cockroach’, ‘leopard gecko’, the lethally venomous ‘poison dart frog’ and the giant ‘bird-eating tarantula’. The favourite, as seen in the picture, was the massive boa constrictor called Miles, which took six children to handle!

The session was not only highly educational, but hugely enjoyable, and the children – and staff! - were enthralled throughout. ‘It was a real thrill to see these creatures’, said the Headmaster, Richard Jackson, ‘and the children certainly won’t forget this experience. Paul and Debbie from Animazing are a real source of inspiration and knowledge.’
