Edgeborough Boys become National Champions - September 2006

Edgeborough pupils Charlie Barrow and Jack Thomas, both aged 11, took part in the IAPS national tennis tournament, held at Queenswood School in Hertfordshire and involving 300 children in U12 and U14 age groups.
Charlie Barrow from The Bourne Club in Farnham and Jack Thomas from Aldershot Tennis Centre played in both the U12 singles and doubles events.
In the singles the boys were knocked out in the quarter finals by the eventual winner and runner up respectively, but in the doubles they triumphed.
9 rounds were played in exceptional heat to reach the final which they eventually won, becoming national U12 doubles champions. Past winners have included Tim Henman, David Gower and Annabel Croft.
The boys will be returning to Queenswood School in July 2007 to defend their title.
