All girls and boys of Prep School age (2 - 13) are welcome to apply for a place at Edgeborough. The most common ages of entry are 2+ for Nursery, 4+ for the Pre Prep years and 7+ for Prep School. Places can become available in other year groups at any stage, however the registrar is always available to give you up to date information. There are a great number of families at Edgeborough and thus, whenever possible, we will be as flexible as possible to allow siblings to join.
We have no formal academic testing in the Early Years' section, ages 2+ to 4+, but we are looking for the kind of social maturity which will help children to mix successfully with the rest of their peers and help everyone to work together successfully and effectively. Other pupils for Pre Prep, ages 4+ to 6+ will be asked to come on a familiarisation day for informal observation. Prep School pupils aged 7+, are usually tested in English, non-verbal Reasoning and Mathematics to ensure that they will fit comfortably into the academic range of the class they are joining.
