The Governors of Edgeborough School are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Christopher Davies as the next Headmaster.  He will take up his post in January 2011 following the retirement of Richard and Maureen Jackson.

Mr Davies is currently Headmaster of Abingdon Preparatory School, Oxfordshire, where he has been since 1999, before which he had had wide experience of teaching boys and girls in leading independent secondary schools. He is married and has 2 children.

Mr Davies said of the appointment, "I am very excited by the prospect of moving with my wife and family to Edgeborough. It is a school that I have admired from afar and I feel honoured to have been asked to lead it forward in the years ahead."

Richard Jackson said: ‘Edgeborough is a thriving and dynamic community and we are confident that the Governors have found a worthy successor who will lead the school to even greater success in the future.’

Tim Elliott, Chairman of the Governing Body said: "Richard and Maureen Jackson have achieved an enormous amount during their 18 years at Edgeborough. They will leave the school in a position of great strength. The Governors look forward to working with Christopher Davies as the next Headmaster, as the school continues to develop and provide an excellent all-round education for its pupils.”
