Rupert Bean appeared on TV in 'Blind Date' in January 1999. Peter Came captained the Bradfield Waifs team which reached the final of the Cricketer Cup, and Charlie Carpenter was in the squad for the semifinal. Simon Elliott is at Leeds University. Nick Gibbens cycled across Australia with a friend to raise money for Cancer search -- the journey from Perth to Sydney was 3500 n and they hoped to complete it in 3 months. Nic Godfrey is Licensee and Manager of the Amateur Dramatic Club amateur theatre in Cambridge. Myles Granger has sung with the Royal Philharmonic Choir in the Albert Hall, he is composing and hoping to make music his career. Adam Hunt is working for PRISM, marketing outlet for Ford. Mark Jackson is in the A ski team, and served under his father in Kosovo. Luke Jourdain is doing a degree course in Hotel Management at Bournemouth. Adrian Luscombe-Whyte is apprenticed as an electrician to a small company outside Norwich. Ben Luscombe-Whyte is an assistant to a surveyor charting vast areas of the UAE. David Spink dislocated his shoulder playing Rugby (again!); when he came to from the anaesthetic he found that the doctor examining him was Matthew Solan. Dan Thompson has qualified as a Solicitor. Jonathan Wilson is a geologist with Esso. Robert Wilson is a solicitor in Putney, defending doctors. 'Harry' Worth is at the University of Salford reading Business Studies. Nick Kelly became the OE to contact the school via our new Website (http://www.edgeborough.co.uk); he lives in Barbados with his wife and two sons.

 

Specific Schools

BRADFIELD: Charlie Bagnall was in the 1st XI hockey and football. Stephen Black was deputy Head of House. Jamie Davies has had a busy first year and has taken to fives and sailing. Mark Sealey was Captain of Hockey and is off to Manchester University.

BRYANSTON: Ben de Glanville played Rugby for Under 14 As, and has been in school teams for hockey cricket and rowing.

CANFORD: Claire Pothecary has been in school netball, hockey and athletic teams, and took part in a version of The Taming of the Shrew.

CHARTERHOUSE. David Prynne achieved 3 A grades at A level.

CLIFTON: Tom Mathias has played Rugby for the Under 14 As, and has rowed for the Under 15s.

ETON: Adam James plays the trombone in various brass groups, has played Rugby for the Under 14 As and is in his house 1st VIII on the river. (No cricket? Ed.)

GODOLPHIN: Rosic Tait has thoroughly enjoyed her first year. She has been in the Under 14 tennis team, and has had county trials for netball and as a javelin thrower.

LORD WANDSWORTH: Catherine Kirk has been appointed Head Girl. Natalie Hall has had a happy first year and is in a jazz band.

MARLBOROUGH: David Geddes has played hockey for the Under 14 As, cricket for the Bs, Rugby for the Cs, and is threatening to introduce roller hockey. Andrew Gillott was captain of fencing and is about to embark on a year's work attached to a Christian mission in Kenya. Edward Jackson was a winner at the Dorset Athletics Championships Under 20 cross-country, 800m and 1500m. Sarah Jackson performed solos in the Choir tour of the Czech Republic. Humphrey Taylor was Head Prefect and in the 1st XV.

MILLFIELD: Edward Wood won a prize in his academic group and has played hockey for the Under 14 Cs.

THE ROYAL SCHOOL HASLEMERE: Alex Argenti was in the Under 14 rounders and netball team, as well as competing in local Pony Club events.

ST SWITHUN'S: Lily Montgomery has been ‘doing loads': netball, lacrosse and rounders teams, and major roles in drama productions.

SHERBORNE: Seb Bois has had a busy first year, playing in school teams for Rugby and hockey, as well as achieving a good KS3 Maths result. Patrick Gidney was in the school 1st teams for Rugby, hockey and cricket, as well as becoming, we think, the first OE to feature in Private Eye:

Cricket Tour to Pakistan ..... Footnote: Patrick Gidney, fielding on the boundary, was joined by a young Pakistani boy, who engaged him in conversation. "Are you a Muslim?" he asked Patrick. "No, actually I'm a Christian" "Oh ....... said the youngster. A little later the boy returned with some friends and started stoning Patrick.

William White was in the 2nd XV and was on the 1st team tour to Fiji.

 

SHERBORNE GIRLS: Helen Bourne won a prize for being the rnost cheerful girl in her house.

WELLINGTON: Michael Robb has had an excellent all-round first year. He has represented school teams at

Rugby, hockey and tennis, and has played trombone in the school orchestra and brass band.

WEYDON: Daniel Ford helped to raise over £10,000 for the children of Chernobyl.

WINCHESTER: Ruaridh Cameron Smail has had an excellent first year academically, has played soccer, hockey and cricket in various school teams, was in the second orchestra, the St. Michael's choir (Michla in 'Wykehamese') and the junior house play. Gavin Sandison is in the top science set, is heavily involved in DT and creative art and is drummer in a jazz group. Charles Pitt gained straight As at A level, with a distinction in History.
