17-21 June 2021
It has been an incredibly exciting week here at Edgeborough with our inaugural Well-Being Festival. It has been so positive, both for children and staff, and it has given everyone a real sense of community and warmth that has been a pleasure to be part of.
The Well-Being Festival was created to offer a chance for all the Edgeborough pupils to consider and celebrate feeling well. A huge variety of activities and workshops were on offer all week for the children, aimed at enhancing their physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Options included cloud watching to break-time boogie, yoga to gardening, puppy time to den building and gratitude letters to positive affirmation jar making, plus so much more.
The various interactive workshops targeted specific years from Nursery through to Year 8 involving cookery for the Pre-Prep and a visiting author, steep pan workshops for Junior Prep and resilience workshops for the Senior Prep. The Steel Pan Agency delivering the masterclasses also gave wonderful, upbeat performances, energising both staff and pupils and ensured everyone was in the right spirit for the whole week.
On top of this Edgeborough celebrated Outdoor Classroom Day on Thursday 20 May, where all lessons were outside and the school enjoyed an outdoor picnic on the Headmaster’s lawn.
Well-being at Edgeborough is holistic and structured and the Well-being Festival was an inspiring way to bring the whole school together, to discover new interests and learn valuable tools to develop life-long resilience and inner confidence, whilst having an enormous amount of fun.
