We are excited to be able to deliver some good news in some otherwise difficult times. Our Eco Committee, under the guidance of Mrs Thomas, have secured the coveted Green Flag from the Eco Schools. The Eco-Schools Green Flag is an internationally recognised award for excellence in environmental action and learning.
The School has undertaken numerous initiatives across different areas of the curriculum to earn this award including making ‘Bendy bags’ out of recycled materials, speech writing about the environment and making animal feeders and shelters.
There have also been school-wide initiatives such as food waste competitions. Single use plastics have been replaced with water bottles and compostable sandwich bags and there has been a change in attitude to the car parking, where parents are asked to turn their engines off when parked. Many congratulations to all involved!
