Welcome local artist, Hannah Rollings

Edgeborough was thrilled to welcome local artist, Hannah Rollings, to teach years 3-8 ‘Landscapes’ in their outdoor classroom overlooking the rolling Surrey hills.  The children relished exploring colours, mark making and understanding what can be achieved through layers of paint, scraping back, working with oil pastels and oil sticks.

The pupils worked collaboratively to help Hannah build up her own larger canvasses (3m x 1.2m). It was a wonderful experience to be part of such a huge painting. They willingly took risks and worked together on larger rolls of paper, chatting about their vision and experimenting with tools to create their ideas.

Hannah commented, ‘It was a joy and a very valuable experience to be in the moment and in the landscape with such creative, brave children.’
