Graduating from Liverpool University in 1992 with a B.Sc. (Hons) in Chemistry, and then again in 1996 with Ph. D. in Organic Chemistry, Andrea worked in chemical research for Oxford Diversity until 1998 when she left industry to take up a teaching post at Bedford School. In 2002 she moved to Cranleigh School as Head of Chemistry and joined the Senior Management team there in 2007 as Senior Teacher. In 2012 she took up a pastoral role as Housemistress in a boarding house of 115 girls which she thoroughly enjoyed and in 2016 was appointed as Deputy Head (Pastoral) at Cranleigh.
She is married to Richard, who is the Head of Performance at Cranleigh and they have two young daughters, aged 8 and 9. In her spare time she enjoys running, reading and cooking.
