Boarding department shortlisted for award

Our Boarding department was delighted to learn of a very special shortlisting to start October, as we now cross our fingers and await the results in December.

On Wednesday 3rd October, it was revealed that Edgeborough had been shortlisted for the Independent Boarding School of the Year prize in the Independent Schools of the Year awards in association with Independent School Parent.

The shortlisting comes after the school was entered into four categories, Independent Prep School of the Year, Independent School of the Year for Sporting Achievement, Independent School of the Year for Performing Arts and of course, Independent Boarding School of the Year. With judges meeting again throughout the Autumn to decide on winners, the school waits with bated breath ahead of the results in the Winter.

Whatever the outcome though, the shortlisting is a glowing reflection on the excellent work that takes place in the Boarding department. With a dedicated staff, an incredible range of facilities and a perfect environment for friendships to grow, it’s no wonder for everyone connected to the school that this shortlisting has arrived.

Headmaster Dan Thornburn was proud of the nomination and the school’s continuing growth on the national circuit: “Awards and nominations aren’t the be all and end all, but it is nonetheless fantastic to see that we are in the mix. I am very proud of all the staff and pupils who make the Boarding House such a special place to be!”
